The TM Designworks Factory Edition Rear Chain Guide is the virtually indestructible benchmark chain management system engineered to replace weak, bendable OEM aluminum and plastic chain guides. Stock chain guides utilize thin stamped aluminum outer shells that easily bend inward when struck by rocks, ruts, or logs. Once bent, the OEM guide derails the drive chain, often causing the chain to wad up around the countershaft sprocket and crack the engine cases. The TM Designworks guide completely eliminates this catastrophic failure mode.

Manufactured in the USA from a proprietary Zero-Drag Return-Memory UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) composite plastic, the Factory Edition guide absorbs violent rock and log impacts and instantly flexes back to its original geometric shape. The composite material is infused with friction-reducing lubrication additives, allowing the chain to glide through the guide with minimal resistance and reduced drive noise. The guide features extended front and rear guide wear pads that keep the chain tracking perfectly straight onto the rear sprocket teeth, even under severe swingarm flex. The bottom wear pad is fully replaceable, allowing low-cost maintenance over years of abusive riding.

  • Housing Material: Proprietary Return-Memory UHMW polyethylene composite
  • Friction Reduction: Infused silicone/dry-lubricant composite formulation
  • Wear Pad: Replaceable bottom rub block with recessed stainless hardware
  • Impact Absorption: 100% elastic recovery from direct rock and log strikes
  • Country of Origin: Made in the USA

### Step-by-Step Installation & Safety Protocols Installation is simple and utilizes the factory swingarm mounting tabs. Remove the two mounting bolts holding the stock chain guide. Slide the old guide off the chain. Position the TM Designworks Factory Edition guide around the lower chain run and align it with the swingarm mounting holes. Reinstall the mounting bolts using the supplied heavy-duty stainless steel hardware and thread locker. Torque the mounting bolts to 10-12 Nm (do not over-torque, which can deform the swingarm tabs). Spin the rear wheel to ensure the chain passes freely through the center channel without rubbing against the side plates.

### Maintenance & Wear Inspection Maintenance consists of periodically checking the thickness of the lower wear block. When the wear groove reaches the internal wear indicator mark, replace the wear block using a TM Designworks replacement insert.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does Return-Memory plastic prevent chain derailment?

A: Unlike aluminum guides that stay permanently bent after taking an impact from a rock or rut, TM Designworks Return-Memory composite flexes to absorb the blow and immediately springs back to true alignment, keeping the chain centered on the sprocket.

Q: Is the internal wear pad replaceable on this chain guide?

A: Yes. The lower wear block can be unbolted and replaced when worn, meaning you never have to replace the entire outer guide housing.

Q: Will the TM Designworks chain guide fit oversized rear sprockets?

A: Yes. The Factory Edition guide is engineered with ample internal clearance to accommodate rear sprockets up to 52 teeth without rubbing.

Q: Does this guide reduce drive noise?

A: Yes. The composite plastic absorbs chain slapping noises far more effectively than resonant aluminum stock guides.
